Project Estimator

Roof Hugger is seeking a Project Estimator for their office in Lutz, FL. The Estimator will be responsible for calculating the projected costs, materials, labor, and time required for a project. The Estimator will analyze blueprints and specifications to competitively bid projects, track project details and prepare project packages for engineering and production. This role will have customer contact and will communicate with customers regarding project updates and expectations; and resolve shipping issues. ThisEstimator role will also handle new customer calls, answer general questions, and discuss product pricing. Key Duties & Responsibilities Produce accurate and detailed project cost estimates with minimal variance from actual costs. Submit complete, competitive, and profitable bids in a timely manner. Provide reliable budget forecasts to support project planning and competitive pricing. Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Clients, Suppliers and Architects Discuss framing systems and answer customer and designer questions and share product knowledge. Confirm and document the scope of work, assumptions with customers prior to quoting. Ensure all estimate details, assumptions, exclusions, and supporting documentation are complete prior to customer review. Coordinate engineering input requirements (as needed with Engineer). Communicate with customers about project updates, schedule expectations, and shipping issues. Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Cost estimating and budgeting Strong mathematical, data analysis and problem-solving skills Prior experience reading blueprints, drawing, and specification interpretation Cost analysis and forecasting Strong attention to detail Construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industry-specific processes are preferred Education / Training Required Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University, or 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This role will be on-site at our Lutz, FL office Company History The company was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Lutz, Florida.
