Find your next opportunity today!Description of WorkBroughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for two (2) Licensed Sign Language Interpreters, one (1) on 1st Shift and one (1) on 2nd Shift, to work in the Deaf Services Department; specifically, on a co-ed deaf unit. The primary focus of this position is to provide interpreting services for patients who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders and to hospital staff that support these patients within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate works well with others, works great under pressure, and is extremely flexible with scheduling.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Interpreting in a variety of situations such as educational, medical, legal, financial, employment, and community meetingsTeaching beginning American Sign Language (ASL) classesRendering manually, orally or in writing a deaf person's messageInterpreting, transliterating, and signing to voice interpretingAssessing the communication skills level of clients and exercising judgment in determining the services to be provideKnowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesRecruitment Range: $52,592.00 - $92,036.00Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
