Senior Safety Engineer

Juneau is looking to expand our Atlanta-based Safety team with a Senior Safety Engineer. This critical role will work onsite at any of the jobs in our footprint, which includes Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida. The Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for the management, coordination, and successful completion of safety requirements on their assigned project. They assume a leadership role for all staff members on site as well as subcontractor trade partners in leading these teams to safely construct their project. They should communicate and reinforce Juneaus core purpose and values. Position Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a Safety related discipline3+ years of experience managing the safety efforts on a large construction project ($30M+); or equivalent combination of education and experienceCHST preferredCurrent OSHA 500 preferredBilingual in Spanish preferred Duties and Responsibilities: Implement Juneau safety culture initiativesAssists, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including OSHA and DOTWorks directly with project team, to develop and implement jobsite specific safety programCoordinate emergency proceduresProvide general safety oversightPrior to trade partner mobilization review premobilization documents related to safetyConduct site safety inspections, coordinating corrections with all trade partners and internal teamsCommunicate frequently with the Safety Director to report the status of the jobsiteTrack and report safety related metrics to internal and external team membersConduct incident investigations to determine causal factors and remedial actionsDevelops and delivers safety related training including but not limited to new hire orientation, weekly toolbox talks, and general safety awareness trainingCarry out other tasks as assigned by supervisor Job Expectations/Physical Demands: Position will work on-site with exposure to various weather conditions and may require regional travel between applicable Juneau Construction Company locations and jobsites.Must be able to stand, sit, feel, twist, walk, talk, hear, see, bend, crouch, squeeze grasp, crawl, kneel, squat, push, pull, apply pressure, reach overhead.Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly if required.Must be able to safely operate all required machinery as needed.
