Senior Project Manager (Master Planning)

Senior Project Manager – Public Works – Los Angeles, CA Overview Lead and deliver master planning and real estate portfolio strategy for a public works client in Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities Manage consultant teams to deliver complex master plans and planning projects, including community, municipal, and stakeholder engagement. Research and assess end‑user, facility, and property improvement needs, constraints, risks, and integration of project functions. Collaborate with shareholders and internal/external resources during due diligence, scope development, options, conceptual cost estimates, and master plan phasing. Manage shareholder expectations, anticipate concerns, and develop contingency plans. Produce project status reports and maintain audit‑ready files. Qualifications Critical strategic thinker with problem‑solving, team‑aligning, detail and complexity management skills. Strong presentation skills for executive staff, community groups, elected officials. Analytical and financial skills to synthesize complex data. Proficient in interpreting construction documents, leases, and contracts. Time‑management and organization skills; ability to multitask and prioritize. Service‑orientation and proven success with architects, engineers, and diverse consultants. Understanding of County, local, regional codes, entitlements, EIRs, finance, and public relations implications. Experience & Education Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in facility assessment for public agency operational and service delivery needs. Minimum 10 years of experience overseeing consultants for master planning of institutional facilities or large commercial or residential areas. Minimum 10 years of master planning experience for large institutional facilities or publicly served facilities. Minimum 10 years of programming, budgeting, scheduling, and adaptive reuse of public agency facilities. Experience in market analysis, real estate development proformas, and site analyses of existing and unimproved properties. Experience evaluating redevelopment opportunities and formulating flexible asset strategies. Experience with contractors, regulatory authorities, and vendors such as FF&E personnel. Preferred: County/municipal/state government projects; licensure (e.g., AIA, CE) and professional accreditations (CPM, LEED, PMP, CCM, DBIA). Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $132,800.00 – $185,933.36 per year.
