We value curiosity, critical thinking, and a willingness to embrace change as part of how we work.Position OverviewReporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis US, the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will support and interface with corporate and business leaders on financial needs specially supporting: Workers Compensation, Captives, Shared Risk Casualty, and E&S Casualty. This includes the creation of qualitative and quantitative analyses that provide critical insights enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions. Define, design, and build financial models, reports, and presentations to support internal planning and budgeting as well as to support external reporting. Understand key metrics and leverage financial information to deliver required financial targets. This role will also serve as an FP&A contact for the FP&A function as it pertains to Adaptive Planning support, issue resolution, and the expense allocation process. This is a hybrid 3 day in office role.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and provide leadership in developing budget, forecasting, and reporting for the corporate functions, guide corporate functions and business teams in the budget process.Manage and monitor Income Statements and consolidations for supported businesses and corporate functions. Drive actionable information and advice to corporate and business teams.Evaluate financial outcomes of various decision alternatives; provide management with information on potential decision impacts along with recommended options and action plans.Advise on key business planning assumptions, identify, and quantify risks, and/or opportunitiesTranslate content needed for senior level presentations; ensure content provided meets requirements; assist in preparation of presentations for senior managementDevelop ad-hoc analyses and financial modeling support to the corporate function and business leadersMove forward projects/improvements that need leadership and supportSupport management roll forward reporting/management operating report processProvide more hands-on/ day to day support for teamSupport the increasing needs of the businesses on corporate functions transparencyOversee close review for corporate functionsEnhance management informationSeek out ways to continuously improve processesManage/assist in preparation of presentations for senior managementLead the development and analysis of financial models that drive strategic insights and help address diverse business problems through expansion of more holistic KPI'sAssist in the evaluation of our business strategy and initiatives relative to our broader corporate and business strategiesEvaluate the impact of strategic decisions on our stakeholders (i.e., customers, employees, shareholders, etc.)Provide ad hoc financial and business decision support as needed.Demonstrate The Ascot Way by collaborating across teams, embracing inclusivity, and demonstrating accountability while helping build an engaged, high-performing culture.RequirementsBachelor's degree in finance or related fields (strongly preferred).A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting roles; P&C insurance and Workers Compensation/Captives experience preferred.Strong financial acumen including thorough understanding of statutory financial reporting requirements, preferably specific to P&C insurance.Strong knowledge of Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and formulas.Strong knowledge of financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows).Ability to work through shifting priorities and deadlines.Ability to work in a team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh degree of critical thinking skills, analytical, and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage time and resources effectively.Exhibit spirit of continuous improvement and role flexibility.***This position may be filled at a different level, depending on experience***Compensation:Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.
