Of Counsel Attorney

The Role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a full-service legal practice as a senior attorney who brings an existing client following and manages work for those clients. The role is a partner-track position that begins at the Of Counsel level, with a formal review for ownership at a set point each year. It suits a collaborative, client-focused generalist who values being present in the office.

What You'll Do

Expand an existing client base and deepen relationships by drawing on the wider capabilities of a full-service practice.

Win and manage client engagements in your core area, working alongside associates and paralegals to share the workload.

Partner with firm leaders to give clients well-rounded legal advice.

Refer and cross-introduce work among colleagues to broaden client service.

Take an active part in the in-office culture of the firm.

Work within a transparent, formula-based pay structure that includes a bridge salary during the initial ramp-up.

Move through an initial period of roughly a year at the Of Counsel level before being considered for partnership at the next annual review.

What We're Looking For

A substantial, transportable client base, with its quality and the share you personally generated weighing more than the total figure.

Ability to document three years of personal client-generation and collection history.

A career spent mainly in a smaller or mid-sized practice or on your own, rather than a very large national firm.

A transactional, corporate or employer-side employment focus; strong litigation experience may also be considered.

A record of both winning clients and doing the legal work yourself.

Comfort serving as a trusted general advisor instead of a narrow specialist.

Strong ties to the Seattle and wider Pacific Northwest legal community.

J.D. from an accredited law school.

Active Washington State Bar membership, or eligibility to join on motion.

Ability to bring in colleagues from other areas when a client needs help beyond your own specialty.

A collegial approach and a client-first outlook.

Openness to full visibility on firm financials and individual performance.

Readiness to start at Of Counsel and wait for the annual partnership review.

Willingness to be regularly present in the Seattle office.

Bonus Points

Background in real estate transactions, business law or mergers and acquisitions.

Established relationships within the regional legal community.

Experience in which transactional work leads to related disputes work.
