Senior Research Associate (Animal Models) - Onsite

We are seeking a highly motivated in vivo research associate to join our Inflammation group as a contractor. The selected candidate will support in vivo scientists to execute preclinical studies, whether they are within regular working hours, or after-hours or in weekends. The day-to-day responsibilities will include daily dosing, daily disease scoring, blood and tissue collections, sending out packages, facility maintenance (such as stocking supplies and keeping lab space organized) and assisting with various aspects of study maintenance.

Qualifications:

Hands on experience with preclinical mouse models is required. The successful candidate will be proficient in murine handling techniques including IV, IP, PO, SC, in-life and terminal blood collection, and handling of tissues during necropsy and processing for ex vivo analysis. This job is full-time and has potential to be converted to a formal employment after 9 months' contract if the candidate demonstrates competency. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team is essential. Bachelor's degree in science is required. Good recording keeping and organizational skills are preferred. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with bacterial infection models.

Required Years of Experience:

• 2 years of laboratory animal facility experience

Required Degree or Certification:

B.S./B.A. degree in Biological Sciences or related field.

Top 3 Required Skill Sets:

• Basic computer proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel is required

• Must be able to work in a team environment, and have the flexibility to collaborate and provide support to various team members

• Must be able to report to shifts with punctuality

• Must be able to work after-working-hours, in weekends and holidays as needed

• Demonstrated ability to organize and plan study support with minimum supervision

• Excellent communication skills

• Good recording keeping and organizational skills are required.

Top 3 Nice to Have Skill Sets:

• Knowledge of and experience with USDA regulations, laboratory animal welfare guidelines and AAALAC, International guidelines is a plus, but not required
