MS NOW is looking for a Writing Associate Producer for for The Moment with Katy Tur, airing weekdays from 2PM - 4PM. Thisposition is represented by the Writers Guild of AmericaEast. Responsibilities : Research,reportand write daily segments. Determinevideo and sound for assigned segments. Communicate daily story development with seniorproducer. Pitch story ideas. Research, write and edit MS NOW’s lower-third banner chyrons, the “front page” of MS NOW’s coverage. Produce other vital on-screen content for MS NOW’s programming. Work on content for digital platforms, social media and MS NOW’s DTC products Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. At least 2 years of experience in some form of journalismrequired(i.e.cable or network news, website, newspaper). Strong writing skills and knowledge of American politics, Americanhistoryand global news. Strong research and reporting skills. Desired Qualifications: Possess ability to develop story ideas,researchand plan segments. Ability to \"book\" guests, and work with graphics and video elements. Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television. Knowledge of current events,politicsand pop culture. Wide-rangereaderof news, including op-eds. Edit room experience and breaking news experienceispreferred. Proficient in both tape and desktop editing. Candidateshould be able to deal with daily script deadline pressure. Additional JobRequirements: Mustbe willing to work in New York, NY. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
