The purpose of this position is to fulfill accounting and administrative functions and to ensure County funds are handled correctly. This position makes this possible by adhering to Arizona Statutes on governmental accounting and reporting as well as all Federal Mandates.

Responsibilities include:

• Serving as the main point of contact for any information concerning funds and budgets for County offices, fire districts and the cities and towns.
• Representing the County Treasurer's Office during audits and preparing all necessary records in reference to the Office's transactions and funds balances.
• Accurately allocating funds to various entities listed on taxbills, to ensure entities meet their budgets and maintain healthy credit lines. Such allocation process is carried out according to Arizona Statutes and accounting guidelines through reports and statements, completed daily, monthly and annually.
• Attending to phone calls and providing guidance to citizens with tax-related questions during peak tax collection times.
• Maintaining and balancing checkbook daily and processing journals from Finance Department, schools and special districts.
• Performing cash and bank reconciliations.
• Uploading and processing warrants from banks before posting and providing corresponding reports to the Finance Department, the County School Superintendent's Office and the Payson School District.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
