Therapy - RRT Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Must-Have: Ventilatory skills Description: Department: Respiratory. CRT is acceptable but RRT is preferred.Number of treatments per day is 50-75+, depending on census.Days will have 2 RTs for inpatient and 1 RT for outpatient.Nights will have 1 RT inpatient.Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PCOT.Types of patients include mostly adults, with exceptions for ED where adults, pediatrics, and neonates are seen.Areas covered include inpatient, outpatient, and ED.There are future plans for a Sleep Lab and possible cross-training to Pulmonary/Cardiac Rehab.Must have 2 years of experience in the specialty.First-time travelers are acceptable.Must have ventilatory skills and be able to work independently.Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.Job duties for inpatient include ventilator management, ABG draws, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, nebulizers, MDI, and airway clearance techniques.Outpatient duties include setting up nocturnal pulse oximetry and blood gases.RTs are currently required to assist with intubation.There is no supervisor or lead RT.The manager is available on call for weekends and overnights.12-hour shifts start from 5:45 AM to 6:15 PM.During night shifts, there may only be one RT on duty, or if census is low, there may only be one.The manager schedules and fills in as needed.Weekend work is required every other weekend.Holidays may require filling in where needed.There is no call or standby call requirement.Everyone works collaboratively.One person will be assigned the ER, which results in a lighter load that day.There is no specific scrub color required.RT equipment includes Hamilton Medical C1 & C3 Vents that do BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow O2, Masimo SoftFlow High Flows, Masimo Pulse Oximeters, GEM5000 ABG analyzer, and ResMed bedside CPAP/BiPAP.There is an in-house hospitalist or intensivist during the day, who is on call at night.Department-specific orientation is provided for 2-3 days. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
