Job Summary: Provides administrative support to HR Director and HR Assistant Director in support of HR functions, including records, correspondence, and data input.

Essential Duties:

• Answers phones for HR Department and makes referrals as necessary.
• Updates personnel and benefits files for all employees of the Pueblo.
• Sets up Hire, Personnel, Benefits, Grievance, and other files. Files all documents of the Department.
• Scans old personnel files and stores on established external system.
• Informs IT of hires and terminations to keep the email list up to date.
• Makes data entries on all new hires and terminated employees.
• Makes copies and assembles binders for various meetings and hearings.
• Faxes and scans documents as required.
• Keeps cuff account of budget and expenditures.
• Generates PO’s for payment of goods and services, including background checks.
• Assist with all new hire paperwork. (W4, I9’s)  
• Keeps all Personnel information updated.
• Assist with obtaining signatures
• Assist with logging in incoming correspondences
• Communicates with Payroll on employee changes.
• Any and all other duties assigned

Qualifications:

• Education: HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience/Basic Knowledge: 3 years’ work experience preferred. Prefer work in administrative support, especially in a Tribal Government setting. Working knowledge of Windows Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required. Filing and data entry experience preferred. Must be able to keep personnel information confidential. Must understand or be willing to learn about the San Felipe cultural norms and mores. Ability to speak and understand Keres is preferred. Ability to pass a driving and background check. Must obtain a Tribal Human Resources Professional Certification within 2 years.  
• Required Licenses/Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. from time to time.
