Union Family Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is committed to enhancing the mental health and well-being of our clients. This full-time, remote position allows you to provide telehealth services, enabling you to connect with individuals, couples, and families in need of mental health support from anywhere. You will be instrumental in conducting evaluations, creating personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions that directly impact the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through initial consultations and document findings accurately to track client progress. \n
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client evaluations, ensuring they are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. \n
- Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that foster a safe environment for emotional exploration and healing. \n
- Actively monitor clients' progress throughout the duration of their treatment, making adjustments to care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. \n
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, to design and implement holistic intervention strategies. \n
- Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, utilizing therapeutic techniques to promote positive change. \n
- Guide family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental and behavioral challenges faced by their loved ones. \n
- Manage referrals for clients requiring specialized services, ensuring seamless continuity of care. \n
Our client population is diverse, ranging from individuals facing anxiety, depression, and trauma to families seeking support during challenging transitions. Clients may also present with co-occurring disorders, which require an understanding of both mental health and substance use issues. You will be instrumental in creating a supportive environment that encourages clients to engage in their recovery journey.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in Illinois. \n
- Successful completion and passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and colleagues. \n
- Demonstrated clinical insight and a history of providing mental health counseling. \n

- Proficiency with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to document client interactions and ensure compliance with regulations. \n
- Experience working with clients who have underlying physical and emotional health conditions, in addition to addiction disorders. \n
- Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), particularly in the context of remote counseling. \n
- A strong understanding of psychotropic medications and their implications for treatment. \n
- Exemplary interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients. \n
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus for selected candidates.
