Ohio - Licensure through the Ohio Department of Health. New Jersey - State license required via the Department of Environmental Protection. States That Do NOT Require State Licensing for Radiologic Technologists:
While ARRT certification may still be preferred by employers, these states do not mandate a state license for general X-ray techs: Alabama Alaska (limited license for certain procedures) Idaho Michigan Missouri North Carolina (only for specific procedures or roles) South Dakota Note: Requirements can change. Always consult the specific state licensing board or health department for the most current regulations.
