Construction Project Engineer – Field Operations

Are you currently working on construction sites as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent?

Do you have 2+ years' hands-on commercial or industrial construction experience and want to develop toward Project Management?

R. C. Stevens Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Project Engineer – Field Operations to join our project team and help deliver high-quality construction safely, efficiently, and ethically. 

The role 

In this role, you will support project delivery, working with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors across quality control, scheduling, permitting, compliance, documentation, and construction methods. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Support project planning, work-package development, scheduling, and production benchmarks 
• Review drawings and resolve design conflicts or errors 
• Track quantities, productivity, project progress, and material deliveries 
• Communicate daily productivity targets to field crews 
• Assist with purchase orders, subcontractor agreements, scopes of work, and contract development 
• Maintain project logs, correspondence, schedules, and compliance records 
• Coordinate submittals and approvals with owners and engineers 
• Support the project quality assurance and quality control program 
• Lead project closeout activities 
• Identify, document, and estimate costs for additional or unexpected work 
• Maintain accurate change-order records 
• Provide engineering input for the daily job log

The person 

• A four-year degree in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience 
• At least two years of construction project management experience in the field 
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, engineering, estimating, scheduling, and safety 
• The ability to solve complex technical problems 
• Excellent communication, organization, and supervisory skills 
• Previous knowledge of Procore, ideally 
• Willingness to travel 
• A valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving history 
• Background checks and participation in the Drug-Free Workplace Program are required.
