Responsibilities The description combines engineering, product, and AI-focused activities across agentic AI systems. Specific responsibilities are not enumerated as a separate list in the original, but include designing, implementing, and iterating AI-enabled systems with customers and contributing to production-quality software and AI-driven workflows. Qualifications Exceptional engineering skills. Deep ML knowledge with meaningful implementation track records. Strategic and proactive thinking; ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Dedicated, patient, and resilient to build excellent product experiences. Collaborative and able to win with teams. Competitive coding background (e.g., ACM-ICPC). Experience with startup environments in agentic AI, LLM, or related areas (YC-backed startups are a plus). Programming and Systems: strong proficiency in Python; solid experience with C++ and/or Java. Experience building production-quality software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of the development workflow. Ability to design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate with human workflows. Contribute to maintaining a shared system context for designing, constraining, and standardizing AI systems. Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance. Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design; experience building production-quality systems. Agentic / LLM Systems: practical experience with LLMs and agentic workflows, including tool use, planning, memory, and multi-step reasoning. Experience building end-to-end AI agents or complex AI-driven applications; familiarity with prompting, orchestration, and evaluation for LLM-based systems. Machine Learning & AI: hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and strong ML fundamentals; experience debugging model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines. Infrastructure & Deployment: experience deploying ML systems using Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure); familiarity with distributed training or inference and performance optimization. Demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering and ability to move faster with AI across stack. Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor) in development workflows. Advanced prompt engineering skills to craft precise, structured prompts and maintain reliable AI outputs for production. Other Information Compensation details: The typical base salary range is $148,500 – $223,900 annually, with higher ranges in select cities. This does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
