Nutrition Associate I - VacaValley Hospital (Part Time, Evening)

Overview Job Title: Nutrition Associate I at NorthBay Health. The role maintains state and federally mandated safety and cleanliness standards while performing tasks such as hot and cold food preparation, sanitation of kitchen facilities and equipment, tray-line meal assembly, delivery and retrieval, stocking patient nourishment rooms and other patient care areas, physician lounge, retail and catering food preparation, set-up and service, cash register operation, receiving and inventory of food and supplies, and ensuring therapeutic diet and allergen accuracy in service delivery. Primary Job Duties Demonstrates current knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures. Maintains excellent communication and interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, fellow employees and management as outlined in NorthBay Way. Maintains good attendance and punctuality by reporting to work as scheduled, utilizing the Kronos time card system as instructed, and adhering to departmental policies. Follows all hospital and departmental safety policies to prevent injuries and exposures. Meets or exceeds organizational standards for Joint Commission, CMS, CDPH, Local Department of Health and Environmental Safety agencies. Qualifications Education: High school graduate preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current Safe Food Handler’s certificate required. Experience: One-year food service experience within the last 3 years with hot and cold food production and customer service required; healthcare or institutional food service experience preferred; knowledge of sanitation, safety and infection control procedures. Interpersonal Skills: Must meet high customer service expectations and demonstrate NorthBay Way with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers and contractors. Compensation Structure Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20+ years of experience. Manager level and above are paid a fixed annual base salary and may be eligible for a variable incentive plan. Physician compensation is structured by specialty and role requirements.
