Inspect work-in-process and final product to help ensure that a quality product is being delivered to our customers. The Quality Inspector will record findings, prepares reports and initiates action for problem resolution. They will also perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure that the facility quality requirements are being met.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude but are not limited to the following, other duties may be applied:Perform inspections and tests per customer specifications and company proceduresUsing precision measuring instruments, measure dimensions and clearances of componentsVerify standard work procedures and process controls are followedRead blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specificationsVerify accuracy of production gauges and instructionsInterface effectively with all levels of plant personnelMonitor and evaluate all levels of parts from raw materials to finished goods and shipping containerizationAudit all incoming supplier materials according to certification requirementsHas the Authority and Responsibility to report non-conforming productAccountabilityTimely and responsive reports and documentsSpecified and accurate inspections and measurementsMeeting safety performance targetsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNone at this timeQualificationsMechanically adeptBlueprint reading skillsAttention to detailAble to prioritize and work under schedule demandsGood communication skillsComputer literateAble to read all precision measuring instrumentsAbility to read and interpret specificationsKnowledge of shop practices and operationsEducation and/or ExperienceA high school diploma or equivalent along with;Product knowledge from a metal stamping, brake and/or welding environmentPrevious Quality Inspection experience is preferredMathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentagesAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsBasic blueprint reading skillsGeneral mathematicsUse and read all precision measuring instrumentsRead and interpret specificationsReasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsQI blueprint readingQI Math skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
