Payroll Specialist

This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, employee support, and maintaining payroll records while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees.
• Review and verify timekeeping records, payroll changes, and employee deductions.
• Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and payroll adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll tax filings.
• Maintain employee payroll records and update payroll data as needed.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger and support month-end close activities.
• Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and other tax reporting requirements.
• Support payroll audits and provide documentation as requested.
• Partner with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate employee and compensation data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Paycom, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Compensation Transparency The anticipated salary range for this Payroll Specialist position is $50,000 - $52,000 annually, depending on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including bonus opportunities, where applicable.
