Job Title: Float Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience required License: Must have an active license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Every other weekend and holidays as needed. Completion of at least 1 previous travel assignment is required. Float required within skillset and acuity. Description: This position is for a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Float Registered Nurse. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to adult and geriatric patients. The role will involve monitoring telemetry patients and managing complex care needs. It requires strong clinical skills in managing a variety of medical conditions. Candidates should be familiar with charting in Cerner. Required skills include managing invasive devices and interpreting dysrhythmias. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Additional duties may include blood product administration and management of dysrhythmias. Candidates will have the opportunity to care for patients with diverse diagnoses. Interest in continuing education and professional development is encouraged. This role requires adaptability, as the nurse will float between units as needed.
