OPCO Skilled Nursing is seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator to join our leadership team in Maryville, Missouri. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing payroll accuracy with employee support while helping create a positive workplace culture.

The Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for overseeing payroll processing, employee onboarding, HR administration, personnel records, compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and possesses exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities
  • Process accurate and timely payroll for facility employees

  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws

  • Review timecards, resolve payroll discrepancies, and audit payroll reports

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork

  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation

  • Assist with benefits administration and employee leave documentation

  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR-related questions

  • Support employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives

  • Help resolve employee concerns professionally while maintaining confidentiality

  • Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills and work collaboratively with department leaders to address workplace concerns

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations

  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and regulatory documentation

  • Partner with department managers to support staffing, hiring, and employee development

  • Maintain HRIS and payroll system accuracy

  • Perform additional administrative and HR duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, healthcare, or a related setting

  • Minimum 1 year of Payroll and/or Human Resources experience

  • Experience processing payroll and maintaining employee records

  • Working knowledge of payroll compliance, wage and hour regulations, and employment laws

  • Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems preferred

  • Strong conflict resolution, interpersonal, and customer service skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care

  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance

  • Experience assisting with audits, payroll reporting, and regulatory documentation

  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
