Employment Type: Permanent Closing Date: 22 June 2026 11:59pm Job Title Technical Services – Senior Lead Summary Lead a technical operations team responsible for delivering and assuring customer services across our network and facilities, ensuring that business needs drive priorities and accelerate the delivery of our digitisation programme. Responsibilities Create and empower a team that thrives on a shared purpose, delivering outcomes that build a great customer experience, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Develop the team with a mindset to continually challenge current practices, driving change and improvement in efficiency. Lead work‑planning activities and ensure adequate resources for network maintenance and services, including 24/7 support coverage. Manage resource allocation to projects, initiatives and prioritised work, recruiting and selecting talent to maintain a capable pipeline. Ensure the team and environment adhere to regulatory and health‑safety standards, following Telstra policies. Significantly contribute input to strategic objectives within the functional area, making delivery decisions aligned with strategic direction. Manage the installation of new network hardware onsite, coordinate with engineering teams and maintain infrastructure to minimise downtime. Support troubleshooting for complex technical issues and provide collaborative problem‑solving input. Oversee all regional sites, including co‑location contracts and forward‑planning for equipment expansion, upgrade or migration. Prepare and work within an agreed CAPEX and OPEX budget for network accommodation, general operating support, and infrastructure build‑out. Implement cost‑saving initiatives and identify growth opportunities to improve EBITDA. Use data‑driven approaches to drive continuous improvement of customer experience, technology effectiveness and efficiency. Lead implementation of new processes and procedures, pilot operations, and scale mechanisms. Support Telstra’s legal and regulatory teams in technical responses to government agencies and meet national security obligations across the Americas. Manage Unity Cable System partnerships, budgets, and vendor relationships for the Unity terrestrial fiber network. Act as the 24/7 U.S. Security Officer, ensuring compliance with national security and lawful access obligations. Qualifications 8–10 years of international telecommunications experience, with transmission, IP and subsea experience considered a benefit. Proven leadership in people management, negotiation, project management and change management. Strong troubleshooting skills and decision‑making ability. Good understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic business financial practices. English language proficiency. U.S. citizen (valid U.S. passport) and U.S. resident, able to pass periodic background and security checks. Limited travel required, including some international trips.
