Job Description
Join Us as a Dedicated Med/Surg RN!


- Shift: 12H Nights
- Schedule: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week rotation
- Floating Opportunities: Flexibility to float into any acuity level, including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele

Unit Overview:
- Unit Type: Med/Surg
- Number of Beds: 14
- Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4

Essential Qualifications:
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Expertise in:
- Congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, chest pain work-ups
- COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia
- Pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, acute renal failure

Skills Required:
- Experience with rural healthcare settings; adept at working with lower resources and typically lower patient volumes
- RNs must be comfortable reading strips and escalating concerns to physicians

Unit Support:
- Charge Nurse takes an assignment
- 1 nurse aide for the floor (when at 9 patients)

Equipment Proficiency:
- Familiarity with RT Equipment, including CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow systems

Scheduling:
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
- Weekend Requirement: Full and part-time employees must self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Yes

Additional Information:
- Orientation: Unit/Department specific orientation scheduled during the first week
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments; 3 shifts for shorter assignments
- Charting System: EPIC
- BSN Required: No
- License to Submit: Yes
- Trauma Level: Care Setting: Acute
