Founding Software Engineer

About the Role

Premier Global Links LLC is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to join an early-stage fintech company building technology to improve insurance affordability for homeowners.

This is a backend-heavy full-stack engineering role with significant ownership across product development, architecture, scalability, and infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering leadership to build and launch new products, develop scalable systems, and shape technical decisions as the company grows.

The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, product-minded, and comfortable taking a feature from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship new product features end-to-end across backend and frontend systems.
• Develop scalable APIs, backend services, and data pipelines .
• Drive product expansion and integrate new insurance products into the platform.
• Make architecture and infrastructure decisions supporting scalability and long-term growth.
• Design and optimize relational databases and data models.
• Build internal tools that improve operational efficiency and reduce engineering support requirements.
• Develop reliable systems and contribute to DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery speed.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Identify technical and product opportunities and independently drive solutions from concept to production.
• Contribute to engineering standards, code quality, testing, security, and system reliability.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience , with strong backend or full-stack development experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and shipping production software end-to-end .
• Experience developing backend services, APIs, and scalable web applications.
• Strong experience with relational databases and API design .
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript .
• Experience taking products or major features from 0 to 1 .
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and system design.
• Highly autonomous and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site four days per week in New York City .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at an early-stage startup or building 0-to-1 products within a larger organization.
• Experience with B2B2C products or consumer-facing financial technology.
• Experience with fintech, insurance, insurtech, or financial services.
• Strong experience using AI-assisted software development tools.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or scalable distributed systems.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and strong product ownership.
• Genuine interest in improving insurance and financial products through technology.

Compensation & Benefits

• $150,000-$300,000 annual salary , based on experience and qualifications

Work Arrangement

Hybrid – New York, NY

This position requires working on-site four days per week in New York City . Relocation support may be available for qualified candidates.
