This position will be responsible for performing demands related to Electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and repairs in approximately 180 City facilities.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance/repairs on PV solar equipment and electric vehicle charging stationsObserve electrical devices in operation to determine repairs neededDismantle devices to gain access to and remove and repair or replace defective partsInspect defective parts to detect imperfectionsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsInstall special functional and structural parts in devicesLubricate and clean parts and start devices to test their performanceKeep records/timesheets and itemize duties performed on the jobRead electrical diagramsGeneral maintenance and repair of other items/systems typically found in commercial facilities including but not limited to electricalKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writingAbility to read blueprints and diagramsMust be able to work overtime, including weekend/holiday on-call and emergency call backsMust have a good driving record and valid Driver’s LicenseWorks well as part of a teamMust be able to lift to 75lbs. of equipment and/or toolsAbility to maintain a city driving permitAbility to load and unload extension ladders from top of utility van and place upright against buildingsAbility to climb ladders, crawl and work in small spacesWorks in an organized, clean and safe mannerAbility to work in a Microsoft Suite and a computer-based work order management systemMust be able to work within proximity of animalsPreferred Qualifications:Considerable knowledge of principals and a mastery of skills related to commercial Electrical SystemsMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma with three (3) years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of background, experience and skills necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
