Therapist - Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

A skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is sought to join a large skilled nursing facility in Monterey County, CA. The role involves providing patient-focused occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to enhance residents’ functional independence.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and administer occupational therapy treatment plans for residents with diverse needs.

• Communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary care teams regarding patient progress.

• Maintain compliance with facility policies, Medicare guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in Net Health or equivalent systems.

• Collaborate with staff to adjust care plans based on patient response and clinical judgment.

• Ensure timely completion of documentation and adherence to certification requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active OTA license in the state.

• Demonstrate experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) preferred.

• Possess strong documentation and time-management skills.

• Show flexibility and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment.

• Mentorship programs available for candidates with 0-1 year of experience.

• Ability to work Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday – Saturday schedules preferred.
