Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Dysrhythmia reading Description: 50 mile radius rule applies. All submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license. Licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission. Unit has a 21 bed medical surgical department. Average census is 15-16 patients. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5. The ratio can go to 1:6, but this is avoided when possible. Required certifications include BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, DM, HTN, post-operative ortho, and lap cholecystectomy. Nurses are expected to read their own telemetry strips. Patient care techs are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:5. Team nursing is encouraged, but patient care techs may have 7-8 patients at times. Common equipment includes CPAP. Block scheduling is allowed as able. Weekend requirements are as needed. There are no holiday requirements. No call or standby requirement. Scrubs in any color are permitted. Additional questions or notes obtained through phone implementation, email, or on-site interaction. Cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts per 13 week contract. Charting system used is EPIC. BSN is not required. Willingness to wait for licensing is accepted. This is an acute care setting.
