Title Dental hygienist Job Description We are a fun, progressive, and professional General Dentistry office with an opening for a part-time dental hygienist. The right fit is very important. Primary Job Duties Include: • Removing plaque, calculus and stain with hand instruments or ultrasonics. • Providing scaling and root planing if needed. • Updating medical histories and dental histories. Charting for the restorative dental exam and standard periodontal charting. • Treatment planning any work recommended in the PMS (Dentrix) during periodic exams by the Dentist. • Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized, and helping with the sterilization process. • Instructing and educating patients in oral hygiene. Taking digital x-rays: Bitewings, PA’s and Panoramic. Able to apply topical fluoride and place sealants. Ideal Candidate: • Has the ability to project a positive, warm and professional image in person and on the phone. • Has strong organizational and administrative skills – you see what needs to be done and do it. • Must be articulate and service-oriented and have great eye/hand coordination in order to provide gentle and thorough hygiene care to our patients. • Must have a proven track record in providing outstanding care within reasonable time limits. • Able to multi-task, take initiative and must have excellent time management skills. • Reliable and prompt. • Works well in a team with humor, enthusiasm and joyful consideration of others. • Associate’s degree from ADA accredited dental hygienist school. Current State Licensure and CPR Certification. Certified to give local anesthetic and administer nitrous oxide. If can't do all days, open to some of those days.
