Job Description The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing revenue diversification opportunities that support the strategic objectives of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). The role leads the College's sponsorship and partnership activities, manages the Women's Health Foundation and associated trust funds, and works collaboratively across the organisation to maximise funding opportunities that support education, training, research, advocacy, and member engagement initiatives. The position plays a key role in building sustainable relationships with corporate partners, philanthropic organisations, donors, and other stakeholders to strengthen the College's financial sustainability and enhance its ability to deliver strategic outcomes for members, trainees, and the broader community. Key Responsibilities Driving sponsorship, partnership and fundraising opportunities to support the College's strategic priorities. Managing the Women's Health Foundation, including donor engagement, grants, scholarships and trust funds. Building strong relationships with sponsors, donors, philanthropic organisations and key stakeholders. Identifying and securing new revenue streams through sponsorship, grants and strategic collaborations. Preparing proposals, reports and business cases for leadership and governance groups. Ensuring compliant, effective management of fundraising, sponsorship and Foundation activities. Representing the College and supporting strategic projects that advance women's health outcomes. Desired Skills and Experience Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, fundraising, commerce, communications, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in business development, sponsorship, fundraising, partnership management, or stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to identify, negotiate, and secure commercial partnerships and sponsorship arrangements. Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders, sponsors, donors, and external partners. Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience preparing budgets, business cases, and financial reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and report writing. Highly developed negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills. Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across a complex organisation. High level proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems. Experience working within a membership organisation, not-for-profit organisation, foundation, charity, or health sector environment. Knowledge of philanthropy, donor stewardship, scholarship administration, or trust fund management. Experience supporting governance committees, boards, or foundations. Understanding of the Australian healthcare, education, or medical college environment.
