QVCDC is a non‑profit community development organization located in Ware, Massachusetts that serves the Quaboag Valley region. QVCDC is an alternative small business lender offering programs to support small businesses and benefit low‑income residents. Loan Program Coordinator Job Type: In‑office and community engagement – 40 hours weekly Location: 23 West Main Street, Ware, MA Position Summary The Loan Program Coordinator promotes QVCDC/QVBAC loan programs through outreach in the Quaboag Valley, advises small‑business owners on loan readiness, guides them through the application process, presents applications to the Loan Committee, prepares closing documents, and maintains post‑closing contact with borrowers. Responsibilities Outreach and Lead Generation Promote loan programs to potential borrowers, community organizations, banks, and partners; attend events; network and represent QVCDC; meet with entrepreneurs (including site visits); collaborate with the Executive Director on loan program goals; maintain leads and pipeline in portfolio software. Loan Application Development Help owners identify financing needs and prepare complete loan packages; assist with cash flow projections and business plans; work with the Executive Director on underwriting; present applications to the Loan Committee. Portfolio Management Prepare closing documents for approved loans; follow up with borrowers on required documentation (vehicle titles, insurance, etc.); use portfolio loan tracking software; conduct occasional trips to banks, post offices, and registries. Relationship Management Maintain borrower relationships, monitor progress, and recommend QVCDC services; maintain accurate files and collect financial statements, insurance certificates, job creation reports, and other borrower reports. Collections Contact borrowers with late payments; work with delinquent borrowers to prevent default; assist borrowers in modifying existing loans. Reporting Maintain internal reports on inquiries, loans approved and closed; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the board of directors and funders. General Support Participate in staff meetings; assist in office duties and event planning; attend trainings and regional or statewide meetings; remote work may be possible after training; undertake additional assigned tasks. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in business management, finance, or a related field. Attention to detail, initiative, and ownership of projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently and collaboratively. Effective public interaction skills; some public speaking required. Fluent written and verbal English. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for daily use; mileage reimbursed. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Salary Description Starting hourly rate: $23 – $25 (commensurate with experience) Benefits Paid time off (up to 10 vacation days and up to 10 sick days for the first year). Physical Demands and Working Conditions Sitting for long periods. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use a keyboard. Working in an open office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Extensive telephone use. Manual dexterity for calculator and computer keyboard. Occasional lifting and/or moving of 20–30 lbs. Vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus required. Indoor office or comparable spaces and community spaces with occasional exposure to outdoor weather when traveling to meeting sites; noise level may vary.
