Marine Electrician-Journeyman

This role focuses on setting up temporary electrical services and performing detailed electrical maintenance on a large 660-foot MORAD vessel within a shipyard environment. You will work alongside established marine crews to ensure safe, reliable power distribution while minimizing disruption to other trades operating on the ship.

• Set up and configure temporary electrical services on a 660-foot MORAD ship in accordance with marine and shipyard standards.
• Clean out and service electrical panels and related electrical components to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Perform troubleshooting and wiring tasks on marine electrical systems, including conduits and associated equipment.
• Secure and restore power to the vessel safely, coordinating work to avoid impacting other trades working on the ship.
• Collaborate closely with shipyard crews and marine teams to sequence work effectively and maintain a safe working environment.
• Work during second and third shifts as needed to perform tasks that require securing power without disrupting ongoing operations.
• Follow all shipyard safety procedures and electrical best practices while working in confined and industrial marine environments.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly handle tools, materials, and temporary power equipment.

• Proven experience as a marine electrician or journeyman electrician working in a shipyard or marine environment.
• Hands-on experience setting up temporary electrical services on vessels or in industrial environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for marine electrical systems, including wiring, panels, and conduits.
• Ability to clean, inspect, and maintain electrical panels and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with shipboard power distribution and safe methods for securing and restoring power.
• Capability to work effectively on second and third shifts as required by project needs.
• Comfort working in a shipyard setting, including on and around large vessels and industrial equipment.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple trade crews and follow coordinated work plans.

• Previous experience working on large vessels or MORAD-type ships.
• Experience as an electrician mate or similar role in a shipyard environment.
• Strong attention to detail when handling wiring, conduits, and electrical components.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules in a dynamic shipyard setting.
• Willingness to follow all site-specific safety practices and guidelines, including use of appropriate PPE provided on site.

This position is based in a shipyard environment working on a 660-foot MORAD ship. You will work on board and around the vessel, often in industrial, noisy, and potentially confined areas typical of marine construction and maintenance. The role involves collaboration with multiple shipyard crews and marine teams, including coordination of power shutdowns and restorations. Work may be scheduled across second and third shifts to minimize impact on other trades, so flexibility with hours is important. You will work with marine electrical systems, temporary power equipment, electrical panels, wiring, and conduit in a hands-on, field-based setting, following all shipyard safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment as required by site policies.

This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $35.00/hr.
