About the Role:

The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the procurement process to ensure the organization acquires high-quality materials and services at the best possible cost. This position is responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with the company’s operational goals and financial objectives. The Purchasing Manager leads vendor negotiations, manages supplier relationships, and coordinates with internal departments to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels. By effectively managing the supply chain and materials management processes, this role directly contributes to cost reduction and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Purchasing Manager ensures a seamless supply of goods and services that support the company’s production and business continuity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in purchasing, experience must include Strategic procurement.
• Demonstrated experience in supervisory role, exhibiting strong leadership and management skills in guiding and overseeing team members to achieve objectives.
• Minimum 5 years SAP MM experience.
• Proven experience in vendor negotiations and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of materials management, inventory control, and purchase order processing.
• Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working in manufacturing.
• Customer focused and "does what it takes" mentality
• Multi-functional background with both HQ and Field experience appreciated
• Exceptional leadership skills and ability to manage complexity in an ever-changing environment
• Deep understanding of purchasing in manufacturing environment
• Deep understanding of procurement best practices and trends
• Customer-facing experience
• High results-orientation and hands-on engaged management style
• Willingness to travel 10-15

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
• Experience with labor relations
• Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects.
• Advanced skills in data analysis

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies that support organizational goals and cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements.
• Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with supply chain, inventory, and production teams to forecast material requirements and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality, delivery, and service standards are met.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the procurement and supply management functions.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information to support reporting and audits.
• Lead and mentor purchasing staff to enhance team capabilities and performance.
