Junior Generative AI Engineer - Remote

Salary: $120,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements:

• Some software development experience through internships, co-ops, or substantial academic or personal projects
• Hands-on exposure to LLM or generative AI tools or APIs, plus experience handling text data such as parsing PDFs or HTML, processing text, or using LLMs for extraction or classification
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with basic SQL
• Conceptual knowledge of RAG pipelines, ideally with practical experience
• Familiarity with at least one LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or a similar service
• Basic familiarity with AWS or Azure and an understanding of how to evaluate generative AI outputs for accuracy, faithfulness, and hallucinations
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain your work, ask thoughtful questions, and discuss problems and trade-offs with technical and non-technical colleagues
• Desired: Experience shipping software in a hackathon, open-source project, or fast-paced team environment
• Desired: A bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computational Linguistics, or a related quantitative field
• Desired: Exposure to an orchestration framework such as LangChain or LlamaIndex, or a vector database such as Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, or FAISS
• Desired: Curiosity about model-serving infrastructure such as vLLM or TGI, or deployment of open-source models
• Desired: Exposure to legal tech, compliance tech, or another regulated industry where accuracy and auditability are important
• Desired: A personal blog, portfolio project, or open-source contribution showcasing interest in NLP, information retrieval, or generative AI
• Desired: Experience with Spark, Databricks, or data pipeline tools

• Help build, test, and improve LLM-powered document analysis features, including extraction, classification, and risk flagging, under senior engineers guidance
• Clean, structure, and label legal data, and build data pipelines that support practical AI systems
• Implement defined components of multi-step legal AI workflows, such as due diligence and contract review, including tool integrations, prompt chains, and retrieval logic
• Write test cases, contribute to automated evaluation pipelines, and maintain regression suites
• Take part in cross-functional sessions to understand legal workflows, help define acceptance criteria, and iterate based on user feedback and evaluation results
