Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled RN for a Medical-Surgical Stepdown (IMCU/PCU) unit at a tertiary care hospital. The nurse will provide critical, evidence-based care to adult patients with specialized acute needs, utilizing telemetry monitoring and airway management skills.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive patient care on a 26-bed intermediate care unit, including airway management, arterial and central line care, and medication infusions.
  
  
• 
  Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, utilizing cardiac monitoring and responding to rapid response or code team activations.
  
  
• 
  Administer IV therapies, phlebotomy, and maintain peripheral lines in accordance with best practices.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patients using continuous pulse oximetry and telemetry, ensuring safety and timely interventions.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to isolation precautions and implement respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a current NY RN license in hand (no exceptions) at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a MedSurg or PCU environment.
  
  
• 
  BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; NIHSS must be included in submission.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC charting and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
  
  
• 
  Able to manage patients with respiratory support devices and invasive lines.
  
  
• 
  Willing to float to other units as needed within facility policies.
