Veterinary Technician - Floor Supervisor Full-time Compensation: USD 26 - USD 30 - hourly Bedford Veterinary Medical Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Southern New Hampshire area. At our sister hospital in Hudson, Lowell Road Veterinary Center, we offer rehabilitation services such as underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, laser therapy, modality exercises, and more. Applicants should understand that shifts will be expected to be covered both at this location as well as at our sister hospital located at 288 Lowell Rd, Hudson, NH 03051. This position will include teaching and mentoring a team to be successful in all aspects of veterinary technology! The Floor Supervisor is responsible for oversight for both the technician team as well as the customer service team. This position will be approximately 75% working on the floor and 25% administrative duties . Job duties include, but are not limited to: Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management, and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience required. A Certified Veterinary Technician would be highly preferred, but is not required for an experienced candidate. 1+ year of professional leadership experience preferred. Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery - the right candidate for this position will be able to comfortably assist in surgery. A desire to teach others to create a well-rounded team. Rotating weekend availability. Experience with inventory management. A high work ethic and positive attitude team member. Ability to arrive on‑time and ready to work. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely. Interpret medical records and record client history accurately. Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow. Ability to restrain pets in a low‑stress and safe manner. Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin. Ability to properly set‑up and process laboratory samples and tests. Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs. A self‑starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset. Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency. Pay Range: $26 - $30/hr depending on experience level and credentials.
