A community hospital in South Texas has an immediate need for a Travel/Contract Emergency Department Registered Nurse to support its 24-hour ER on a 13-week assignment. This is a rural, small-hospital setting, ideal for an experienced ER traveler comfortable working with a lean team and broad scope of practice. Shifts follow a predictable 4-on/4-off night rotation. • Deliver full-scope emergency nursing care across a wide range of acuities, from minor injuries to trauma and critical resuscitation.
• Perform rapid triage and assessment in a fast-paced rural ER with limited on-site specialty backup.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions per physician order and hospital protocol.
• Stabilize and prepare patients for transfer to higher levels of care when required, coordinating with transport teams.
• Operate cardiac monitoring, code carts, and standard ER equipment; participate in Code Blue and trauma response.
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the hospital's electronic health record system.
• Integrate quickly with existing ER staff, physicians, and hospital leadership; adapt to facility-specific protocols during orientation.
• Maintain compliance with all facility, state, and Joint Commission-aligned safety and infection-control standards.

• Active, unencumbered Texas RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license.
• Minimum 1 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience strongly preferred for travel assignments.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required at start - no grace period.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS certification required.
• Current TNCC certification required or in progress.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a small, rural ER with a broad scope and limited specialty support on-site.
• Ability to pass facility-required background check, drug screen, and health/immunization clearance prior to start.

• Competitive contract pay: $40 $55/hour, depending on experience and staffing-agency package.
