Director Business Event Sales

the client is seeking a collaborative, data-driven leader to serve as the Director, Business Event Sales. In this role, you will help drive growth in the client’s tourism economy by supporting business events alongside sports and leisure travel, contributing to positive regional economic impact through coordinated team efforts. Reporting to the EVP, Business Events and Destination Services, you will develop and drive strategies to attract state, regional, national, and international conventions and tradeshows to the Pittsburgh area. You will lead a team of 4–6 sales professionals, including National Sales Directors, National Sales Managers, and an Executive Meeting Manager, and own a designated territory that includes citywide focus and key accounts. You will use a data-driven approach to guide sales efforts and serve as an ambassador for the region’s business event offerings on a national stage. The role emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to represent Pittsburgh compellingly to external stakeholders as you work to secure major group and convention business.
