Accounts Receivable Clerk

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk for a contract assignment supporting a busy accounting team in the Des Moines metro. This role will focus on accounts receivable, reconciliations, collections, and related accounting functions while helping ensure continuity during an employee leave.

Responsibilities

Process customer payments, apply cash, and resolve posting discrepancies.
Manage commercial collections and follow up on outstanding balances.
Prepare invoices and reconcile AR accounts, deposits, and payment activity.
Research and resolve billing, account, and payment discrepancies.
Support reporting, unclaimed property processing, and basic AP functions.

Qualifications

2+ years of Accounts Receivable or accounting experience preferred.
Experience with cash application, collections, and account reconciliations.
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving, research, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
