Benefits Community Impact Fun Job Professional Development Competitive salary Opportunity for advancement About The Job We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Soccer Instructor & Official to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development of young soccer players. In this dual role, you will be responsible for teaching fundamental soccer skills, officiating games, facilitating practices, and ensuring a fun, safe, and educational experience for all participants. You will work alongside our volunteer parent coaches to make sure every child learns the game in a positive, high‑energy environment. Schedule & Locations Saturday shifts only. Locations: Leesburg, Ashburn, South Riding, Purcellville Upcoming Fall League: Sept 12 – Oct 17 (make‑up dates through Nov 1) Key Responsibilities Teach fundamental soccer skills—dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending—using practice plans provided by i9 Sports. Implement age‑appropriate drills and exercises, providing encouraging, constructive feedback. Serve as the primary on‑field official/referee for youth matches, ensuring fair play and adherence to league rules. Maintain a professional, authoritative but approachable demeanor, handling rule explanations and on‑field situations with diplomacy and patience. Prioritize safety and emotional well‑being of all participants—ensure proper equipment, supervise practices, and address any field‑condition concerns. Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, fostering a positive, structured, inclusive atmosphere. Maintain open, professional communication with parents, participants, and staff; act as a mentor to volunteer parent coaches. Qualifications Previous experience coaching, playing, or officiating soccer. Strong understanding of soccer rules, field positioning, and standard gameplay regulations. High patience, high energy, positive attitude, and excellent problem‑solving skills under pressure. Exceptional interpersonal skills—confidently interacting with children, motivating volunteer coaches, and addressing parent feedback. Must be 16 years of age or older. Reliable personal vehicle/transportation. Must pass a criminal background check.
