Senior Product Engineer

Location: Melbourne, FL, US 32935 Job Summary This Senior Product Engineer role leads the design, development, analysis, and test support of semiconductor products/devices and related manufacturing processes at Electro Optical InfraredSystems (EOIS). The engineer is responsible for troubleshooting issues, evaluating design and test data, and driving improvements to meet production requirements. The position applies statistical process methods such as Design of Experiments and SPC, uses engineering design/analysis tools, and develops prototypes to retire key technical risks while ensuring design‑to‑cost and design‑for‑manufacture objectives are met. The engineer will also provide technical leadership to a team, deliver work on time and within budget, coordinate with suppliers, support proposal efforts, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers. Job Responsibilities Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of semiconductor processing or semiconductor products/devices; troubleshoot and diagnose problems with existing processes or products and make modifications and improvements as needed. Compile and evaluate process or product design and test data; evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or processes. Work with statistical techniques in process development such as Design of Experiments and SPC. Lead a group of engineers on a technical activity and ensure completion on time and within budget. Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. Use computer‑aided engineering or other design/analysis software as required. Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to meet them, including cost as a key variable. Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments. Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services. Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements. Develop prototypes to retire key development risks. Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required. Participate in preparation of proposals. Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel. Lead and direct the work of others as assigned. Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings. Lead less‑experienced engineers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field. A minimum of 5 years of direct experience. Fluency in technologies and application domain (electronics, troubleshooting, optical, infrared, etc.). Ability to lead a technical group independently. U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
