Member Specialist

Position Summary Provide member service and maintain the checkout area. Resolve member issues and concerns, promote Sam’s Club products and services, and guide members regarding self‑service technology. Process member purchases including payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies for various membership and payment types. Follow company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps, handling merchandise properly, and reporting unsafe situations to facility management. Maintain entrance and exit areas by acknowledging members, verifying membership cards, identifying member needs, and assisting with purchasing decisions and merchandise location. Zone the area, arrange and organize merchandise, and assist members with transporting items to preserve a safe shopping environment. Monitor security, secure assets and property, and communicate potential criminal activity following company policies. Keep required documentation, logs, and paperwork and execute emergency response procedures while ensuring compliance with company security and safety practices. Assist in training Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures, teach new technology and tool functionality, deliver new program rollout training, and provide continuous learning and process improvement opportunities. Ensure the area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies, particularly in handling returns, identifying shrink and damages, and organizing merchandise. Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress; recommend improvement opportunities; and adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback. Mandatory Qualifications Retail experience including operation of front‑end equipment such as a cash register and experience using mobile retail applications. Preferred Qualifications Retail experience including operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register) and working with mobile retail applications. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
