High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Our goal is to help individuals and families achieve personal change and improve their quality of life.Senior Clinician RequirementsMust present as courteous and professional at all timesDemonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasksMust have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashionMust have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative mannerTB screeningCertification in the HPTC approved de-escalation programStrong and effective verbal, written and organizational skillsKnowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPTC`s electronic medical recordsKnowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practiceAn understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues and/or self help programs for adults and/or adolescentsDiagnostic, assessment skills and case management abilityPromote and enhance one's knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addictionAbility to facilitate a group/lectureAbility to set limits and enforce rulesBe familiar with relevant professional codes of ethics, patient's rights documents, and laws and regulations that govern both counseling and clinical supervision practicesMust demonstrate competence in working within a structured human service settingSkills in fiscal and personnel management, and the ability to maintain positive public relations with the local community including the district court and forensic court cliniciansKnowledge of, adherence to, and ability to train staff, regarding state and federal licensing requirements, accreditation bodies and other applicable regulatory agenciesAbility to develop effective interdepartmental and interagency collaborationsSenior Clinician Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintains and submits current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the positionComply with Federal Regulations, 42CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA RegulationsParticipate in Treatment Team MeetingsCrisis interventionMaintain assigned caseloadProvides direct care to patients – including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling, case management, discharge and aftercare planning, lectures, treatment plans, daily progress notes, facilitation of daily groups, group note completion, family meetings and completion of bio-psychosocial assessmentsResponsible for each assigned patient's medical record. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely mannerResponsible for linking patient's with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and his/her family to access outpatient services where appropriateAttend all unit, facility meetings and case conferences as determined by the Program/Clinical Director;Attend mandatory trainingsResponsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse/mental health and related courses;Knowledge of medical necessity criteria for all level of careWorks collaboratively with all parties involved in the clinical review and insurance authorization process to maximize third party incomeResponsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as neededUtilizes standards precautions at all timesDemonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient rightsFamiliarity with managing an in-patient milieu including proficiency in de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, ability to set and reinforce milieu rules and crisis debriefing techniquesEnsure that programming services adhere to written policies and proceduresEnsure that all licensing and accreditation standards are metInteracts with local and community service networks in a manner that enhances the public relations of the facilityOther duties as assigned by the Program/Clinical/Area Directors, Hospital Administrator and/or Vice PresidentSenior Clinician QualificationsMaster's Degree in a human service related field, licensed or license eligible as a LICSW, LMHC or LMFTOne year of supervisory experience preferredEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
