In-House IP Counsel (Chicago)

Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company , is partnering with a global production company to recruit an experienced In-House Intellectual Property Counsel . This is a part‑time, long‑term temporary opportunity supporting a dynamic in‑house IP team. Position Details Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3+ months, with potential to extend Hours: 20 hours/week to start (potential to adjust based on business needs) Location: Chicagoland area preferred Remote candidates with exceptional experience will also be considered Compensation: $100+/hour (commensurate with experience) Responsibilities Provide senior‑level IP counsel to the company’s in‑house legal team supporting high‑volume, global brands Manage patent filings, portfolio strategy, and trade secret counseling Advise business leaders on IP strategy to support innovation, brand protection, and competitive advantage Ensure compliance with IP best practices while providing practical, business‑focused solutions Integrate quickly into the team with minimal training, providing hands‑on guidance across IP functions Candidate Profile 10+ years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, with significant in‑house experience required Strong background in the consumer‑packaged goods industry highly preferred Skilled in patent filings, portfolio management, and trade secret counseling Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment with agility, creativity, and efficiency Active U.S. bar license in good standing LOD is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
