Waste Water Treatment Operator

Wastewater Treatment OperatorWe are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will monitor treatment processes, perform routine inspections, collect samples, maintain accurate records, and respond to equipment or process issues. Previous wastewater treatment experience or operator certification is preferred.Key responsibilities include:Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and processesInspect pumps, blowers, valves, tanks, filters, clarifiers, and other treatment equipmentMonitor flow rates, levels, pressures, chemical feed systems, and process conditionsCollect and test wastewater samples according to established proceduresRecord operating data, test results, chemical usage, and maintenance activitiesMake routine process adjustments to maintain proper treatment performanceIdentify abnormal operating conditions and troubleshoot equipment or process issuesPerform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairsAssist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and preventative maintenanceHandle and monitor treatment chemicals in accordance with safety proceduresMaintain accurate daily operating logs and regulatory documentationFollow applicable environmental regulations, company procedures, and safety requirementsMaintain clean and orderly treatment areasRespond to alarms, equipment failures, spills, and other operational issuesWork with supervisors, maintenance personnel, laboratory staff, and other team members as neededQualifications include:Previous experience in wastewater treatment, water treatment, industrial utilities, or a related field preferredWastewater Operator certification or the ability to obtain certification preferredKnowledge of wastewater treatment processes, pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and related equipmentBasic understanding of water chemistry, sampling, and laboratory testingAbility to read gauges, meters, equipment manuals, and operating instructionsMechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skillsBasic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate recordsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow established proceduresAbility to work independently and make appropriate decisions in accordance with operating proceduresAbility to work outdoors and in industrial environments under varying weather conditionsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders or stairs, and work around tanks and equipmentAbility to lift, carry, and move equipment, tools, and chemical containers as requiredAbility to wear required PPE and work safely around chemicals, wastewater, machinery, and confined-area environmentsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred
