Key Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and make referrals or modify services as indicated by patient response.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech and language disorders.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in the electronic documentation system, including treatment minutes and discharge summaries.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, required trainings, and in-services; supervise CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required; new graduates with completed Level II clinical experience will be considered.
• Long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
• Active Missouri State SLP License required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required.
• Adherence to ASHA standards, state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with Medicare A, Medicare B, and managed care patient populations.
• Familiarity with group therapy models in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.
• Experience supervising Clinical Fellows (CFY) or student clinicians.
