Mortgage Loan Originator

Mortgage Loan Originator Perform a wide range of duties related to the origination of residential first mortgage loans for outside referrals. Manage the entire residential mortgage loan process from application to closing, ensuring compliance with risk management policies and customer experience standards. Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types. Develop and maintain referral contacts with realtors, builders, and other professional contacts. Keep up-to-date with company policies, available loan products, and underwriting guidelines. Follow escalation protocol and complete Fannie Mae 1003 forms, collect documentation, and submit loan packages within management‑specified timelines. Communicate effectively with branches, applicants, and support staff, providing timely updates and managing expectations. High school diploma or equivalent (four‑year college degree preferred). Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines. Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures. Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real‑estate lending. Proven organizational, teamwork, and customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven computer skills. Basic sales technique skills. Strong desire to excel in a competitive environment. Requires S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment. NMLS website provides MU4R questions and registration requirements. Compensation is largely incentive‑based, combined with a base salary or draw. Detailed information available upon request.
