R&D Technologist

Position Summary Seasonings & Ingredients (S&I) Technologist. Entry‑level role based at our Arden Hills, MN facility. The position requires on‑site presence Monday through Friday and does not offer relocation. Location & Travel Arden Hills, MN. On‑site work required; travel up to 20% of the time. Responsibilities Execute and support benchtop and pilot plant experiments, routine testing, dairy product taste evaluations, pilot plant trials, and provide technical service support. Weigh ingredients and modify detailed formulations and procedures. Prepare and submit samples for analytical testing. Prepare samples for team tastings, participate, and provide feedback. Document and communicate data, results, and observations in the electronic lab notebook (ELN). Update and write standard operating procedures (SOPs). Interpret and update specifications. Manage ingredient and laboratory supply inventories. Develop proficiency on‑the‑job in benchtop, pre‑scale, and pilot plant work related to cheese powder. Develop proficiency in inventory efficiencies and customer sample shipments. Qualifications High school diploma or higher, or equivalent work experience. Three years of practical experience, with at least one year of relevant laboratory experience preferred. Basic understanding of experimental and scientific approaches with solid data analysis capability. Basic computer skills; proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and ability to learn new computer systems/applications quickly. Knowledge of laboratory and safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), safe food handling, and good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, and move 50‑lb bags of powder. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Salary $51,520 – $77,280.
