*Job Summary:* We are seeking a compassionate and skilled *Emergency Veterinarian* to join our dynamic team. We are looking for someone who would like to be apart of the first ever animal emergency and wellness center in the Hamptons. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency medicine and critical care, demonstrating excellent diagnostic, surgical, and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations. You will work in an environment, providing urgent medical and surgical care to a variety of animal patients. We believe in work-life balance and want our staff to be happy. Located in a prime summer area, on your time off you will be able to enjoy the local beaches and vibrant community. *Key Responsibilities:*
* Provide high-quality emergency and critical care to patients in need of urgent medical attention.
* Diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including trauma, toxicities, respiratory distress, shock, and other life-threatening situations.
* Perform emergency procedures and surgeries, such as wound management, C-sections, GDV corrections, splenectomies, and fracture stabilization.
* Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including radiology, ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing, and blood transfusion protocols.
* Collaborate with veterinary technicians, specialists, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Effectively communicate with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis in a compassionate and professional manner.
* Provide guidance on follow-up care and collaborate with primary care veterinarians for case continuity.
* Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital policies and industry regulations.
* Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in emergency veterinary medicine.
* Adhere to hospital safety protocols, including infection control and handling of hazardous materials. *Qualifications & Requirements:*
* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
* Active and unrestricted veterinary license in New York.
* DEA license.
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience in emergency medicine.
* Proficiency in emergency diagnostics, anesthesia, and surgical procedures.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making skills under pressure.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient and client care.
* Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. *Preferred Qualifications:*
* Experience in an emergency/specialty veterinary hospital.
* Board certification or residency training in emergency and critical care (DACVECC) is a plus.
