Part-Time HR Specialist (Employee Relations & Compliance)

About the Role
Mama816 LLC DBA Home Helpers Home Care of Downingtown provides non-medical in-home care to seniors, Veterans, postpartum families, and people recovering from surgery across Chester and Lancaster Counties. We’re looking for a part-time HR Specialist to manage the employee side of our team: performance, documentation, and unemployment claims.

This is a work-from-home position. You must live in Chester County so you can get to our Exton office when needed. A company laptop is provided.

Please note: this role does not include hiring or recruiting.

Location: Remote. Must reside in Chester County, PA.

Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with some flexibility within those hours. 20-25 hours per week.

What You’ll Do

• Manage unemployment compensation claims, including responding to claim notices and providing documentation
• Lead employee performance management: 30-day reviews, coaching conversations, corrective action, and terminations
• Serve as a real-time resource to the office team during the day on personnel situations as they come up
• Audit employee files for completeness and compliance
• Follow up with employees and staff to collect missing or expiring file documentation

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of HR experience, with hands-on work in performance management and employee documentation
• Working knowledge of Pennsylvania employment law and the unemployment compensation process
• Comfort handling difficult conversations, including corrective action and terminations, with professionalism and empathy
• Strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and HR or scheduling software
• Ability to work independently from home and respond promptly during business hours
• Experience in home care, healthcare, or another hourly/field-based workforce is a plus
