Job Responsibilities & Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits. Ability to read blue prints. Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to painting using prescribed fixtures and proper work procedures. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the painting trade. Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Monitor painting processes to assure desired finish is achieved. Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify the Foreman or management. Determine required equipment and painting methods via established work procedures and apply proper painting techniques. Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required. Position and secure work-pieces, using hoists, cranes etc. Improve appearance of materials using sand blasting equipment. Package material and help load and unload trucks as instructed. Any other job duties assigned within and outside of the painting department, as needed. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred. Experience: One to two years related experience preferred, but not required.
