The Energy and Utilities sector is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our finance department. This entry-level position plays a critical role in maintaining the precision of financial records and offering essential support to the broader accounting function. The successful candidate will be key to preserving data integrity, optimizing operational workflows, and contributing to the organization's financial health. Responsibilities Execute daily recording and categorization of financial transactions to ensure ledger accuracy. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal review and external regulatory adherence. Perform reconciliation tasks for bank accounts and general ledger entries. Oversee invoice processing, manage accounts payable and receivable cycles, and resolve routine billing inquiries. Maintain organized physical and digital financial documentation in accordance with company protocols. Collaborate with senior accountants to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data. Prepare basic tax filings and support the team during audit processes as needed. Utilize accounting platforms to generate reports and track spending specific to the Energy and Utilities landscape. Requirements Possess zero to one year of prior experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role. Demonstrate a strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and standard record-keeping practices. Show proficiency with bookkeeping software and standard office productivity tools. Exhibit meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Maintain high ethical standards and ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data. Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken formats to support team cohesion.
